A photo safari in Tanzania with someone who lives here: comfortable, unhurried, and planned from start to finish around getting you the photographs you came for.

What makes my safaris different?

1. LOCAL KNOWLEDGE.

I live and work in Tanzania. I know these parks through every season: where the herds move, which areas the cats favour, and where the light falls best at sunrise and sunset. You get a photographer who knows the ground, not a visitor reading from a map.

2. BUILT FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS.

Most safaris are planned around ticking off animals. Mine are planned around photographs. That means small groups, room in the vehicle for every camera, and the patience to stay with a sighting long after other vehicles have driven on.

3. THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME.

Timing is everything in East Africa. I plan each trip around the season and the wildlife, and I look for quieter areas and hours so that you, and the animals, aren't surrounded by other vehicles.

4. ATTENTION TO DETAIL.

From the route to the places we stay, every part of the trip is chosen with photography and your comfort in mind. If something isn't right for the people who travel with me, it isn't on the itinerary.

5. YOU LEARN AS YOU SHOOT.

This isn't just a game drive. I'm beside you the whole way, sharing settings, composition ideas and how to read animal behaviour, and answering your questions as they come up.

Every trip is planned with care, by someone who calls this place home. Karibu Tanzania.

Calving season in Ndutu & the Southern Serengeti

Calving Season Safari

Our safari begins in the Central Serengeti and moves south to Ndutu. At this time of year, huge herds move between the Serengeti plains and the northern edge of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in search of fresh grass, and the predators are never far behind.

It's the green season, and the occasional storm only adds drama to the sky. It's one of the best times to be here: wildlife is everywhere, newborn animals draw the big cats close, and hunts happen in front of the camera.

We finish in the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world.

Its walls rise around 600 metres and stretch roughly 20 kilometres across. Inside lives one of the densest populations of large mammals on Earth, so in a single day you can photograph an extraordinary range of species, predators included.

“A natural amphitheatre, ringed by walls 600 metres high and full of life.”
